Middle School Students Share Work With Medical Professionals

Eighth-grade Jay Team students at Washington Middle School have been working on a Bio-Med Thematic Unit in Language Arts and Algebra.

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the students completed a Writer's Workshop conference with professionals in the medical field.

Kaylin Bade shared her students' argumentative papers with Dr. Dave Wallace and Leslie Quint, RN and Health Occupations Instructor at FRCC, respectively.

After making notations on the medical concepts and terms that were the basis of the arguments in the papers, Wallace and Quint conferenced with the students on how they could make their papers more medically accurate, different sides of their arguments to think about, and overall technical improvements to their paper.
